Dr. Martz is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with subspecialty training in total joint replacement and a special interest in Sports Medicine. Dr. Martz received his Bachelor's Degree from Southern College & University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Martz attended Medical School at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri and completed his Internship at Normandy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Martz completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. During his residency he completed a rotation in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Martz has served Doctor's Hospital as a teaching-attending physician for the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program for the past 27 years. Dr. Martz is one of the co-founders of the first sports medicine rehabilitation facilities in Central Ohio, SportMed. Dr. Martz has had a long-term association with BalletMet Columbus serving as a Consulting Orthopedic Surgeon. He has been involved in participating as a team physician for area high school athletics including basketball, football and wrestling. Dr Martz was a team physician for US Junior Track and Field Team at the World Games in 1988 in Sudbury, Canada and has since received recognition for emeritus service as a consultant to the US National Track and Field Team.
