Physical therapy (PT) is a health care profession involved in the prevention,
evaluation, rehabilitation, and treatment of physical dysfunction and
injury.
Orthopedic physical therapy practice is based on the science of movement.
PT's evaluate & treat the neuromusculoskeletal system with a special
emphasis on the enhancement of function. Because optimal function of the
body is related to many inter-related structures a physical therapist
may include/examine any or all of the following:

- Joint mobility

Services provided by a Physical Therapist
Physical therapy treatment is individualized to each patient and modified
according to the progress of the client. Treatment takes many forms and
may include:
- Manual techniques such as joint mobilization and soft tissue manipulation
- Application of electro-therapeutic and heat/cold modalities
